Adult GROWth

We are a community where Jesus Christ is experienced in his presence and power, where lives are transformed by the gospel through God’s word and mutual ministry.

The gospel, as revealed in God’s Word, is the center of who we are and all that we do. It is the truth that through faith in Jesus Christ alone, all of our guilt, shame and unrighteousness is removed and replaced with all of Jesus’ beauty and righteousness.

Growth in the Christian life occurs the same way that it began:  through an ever deepening belief in the gospel.

"cornerstone u"

"Cornerstone University" is designed to enable Christians and skeptics alike to think carefully about faith. We believe a key ingredient in deepening our faith is the opportunity to question and learn. From classes, to forums, to weekend seminars & retreats, each course offering within Cornerstone U is structured around the belief that the gospel has the power to transform our lives, our relationships, our church, and our community.

Cornerstone Life Groups

Life Groups are the primary place where you are known and cared for at Cornerstone. It is within these small communities that men and women can build personal relationships and practice applying the gospel to their lives. Each group expects to experience Jesus Christ in its midst, enabling participants to be transformed through mutual ministry and to experience life in the family of God.

Composed of six to twelve people, groups meet in homes throughout the city. All groups are led by trained leaders from the congregation who receive continued oversight and support from our pastoral staff. Groups generally meet two to four times a month during the fall and spring semester for Bible study, fellowship, and prayer. Many groups also participate in service projects or fun social events in place of a regular meeting.

These groups provide sanctuary from the pressures and anxieties of life and facilitate the formation of new friendships. Life Groups are places where we can be revitalized and strengthened as we seek to reflect the love of Jesus Christ in every sphere of life. As God made us for community, we need others to help us apply the gospel to our lives. Our hope is that everyone who attends our church regularly will be involved in a Life Group.

Young Professionals

Let's be honest.  Southern Maryland is not a hotbed of activity for young adults.

Lighthouse is a beacon of hope for the young and socially starved in our community.

Lighthouse is a gathering of young adults who want to grow through active engagement in relationships with each other and an exploration of the world around us.

Weekly gatherings are every Tuesday at 7pm at Cornerstone, with monthly outings planned... plus plenty of spontaneous activities that happen as friends enjoy each other.

If you are out of college and/or in your 20's-30's, and looking for a place to hang out, develop friendships, and grow, this is the place for you.

MOPS stands for “Mothers of Preschoolers”, a program led by moms, for all moms of young children, birth through preschool. This is a group that is welcoming to every mom, at every stage of her spiritual and life journey. These women all have the shared desire to be the best mothers they can be.

  • Each meeting we will have time for fellowship with a warm welcome and refreshments. What’s a meeting without food and coffee?
